Thomas Lumley (@tslumley.bsky.social; 16/3/5; 2026-01-06): #rstats blogdown/netlify users: you might have received an email saying your site will go away because something something prerendering.
If you go to the check link in the comments of the linked page (not the one in the text) it will likely tell you there’s no problem because your site is staticπ βͺ

New-Cleckit Dominie (@ncdominie.bsky.social; 2/1/0; 2026-01-06): Thanks! I was trying last year to use Bookdown, which IIRC came out of Bath. It was a valiant attempt to make a usable MathML generator, but so clunky if one was used to LaTeX that I got really frustrated with it. Fine for wee projects but a nightmare for 80pp of lecture notes… βͺ

tj mahr π¦ (@tjmahr.com; 3/1/0; 2026-01-06): this looks good! it passed my two main concerns: 1. that you can drop it at the top of an .Rmd file, run knitr::knit(), and not get a false positive from knitting in a clean session, and 2. that it will detect and report devtools/renv shims βͺ

-
targeting a number of new #rstats packages this year, some are boring wrappers of a API service but others are more exciting
-
switching my codebase to coderberg.org – already started and pretty happy with it
-
more focus on a single project rather than spreading myself too thin βͺ
