Andrew Heiss (@andrew.heiss.phd; 1/1/0; 2026-03-05): Yeah, it’s set up as a Quarto book with parts and chapters (similar to bookdown), so I can manage version control with git, etc., and I can jump into Typora as needed for long-form writing/editing. Even if this weren’t a code-heavy document, I’d do the same thing bc citations, version control, etc ↪
samuel mehr (@mehr.nz; 0/1/0; 2026-03-05): Copilot shoved down your throat is a great reason to branch out imo! Markdown is very simple and pretty, and suffices for simple docs. Bookdown is more complex for longer stuff and integrates super well with citation managers to avoid busywork of manual cites ↪

John Coene (@john-coene.com; 104/7/13; 2026-02-26): This is pretty neat actually; using builder (builder.opifex.org) to translate #rstats {dplyr} code to {data.table} code at build time so you get zero overhead.
⚠️ it’s an llm-generated POC plugin

Do I regret learning #Rstats, #SAS, #Python, & SPSS ALL AT ONCE? 🫠
No! It gave me the empathy to teach people new tools w/out degrading them about their other tools. #databs ↪
